Going from a 2014 ram promaster to a 2017 chevy 2500 in a month or 2. Cant wait. The few perks the promaster has are destroyed by its need for constant repairs.

Those vans are like the ultimate of it ain’t broke don’t fix it. It was the last GM vehicle to use the 4L60 and it’s the only thing that still uses the 4.8L Vortec.

You don’t fix what ain’t broke. The only thing wrong with them is their ancient engines gat crap mileage. My father in law has two of them one 4.8 and one 5.3. Neither of them gets over 14mpg empty.

Are they? That’s disappointing. I liked the one we rented. I like the big ProMasters, but they’re just too tall to fit thru a gas station car wash so we’ll probably not be getting them.

The 4.8 is a slug in a 1/2-ton pickup. In those vans it’s just awful. You’d get better mileage out of a 6.0 just because you wouldn’t have to rat it everywhere.

Exactly. It’s kinda of like how my old 4 banger Camry got crap mileage. It’s s just too much car for a saner engine.
